The gorgeous Daniel has invited himself to join her which leaves her feeling a little bit conflicted. She has two guys who she has genuine feelings for, she likes them both.
After the death of a high profile world leader, Huntley is assigned her next mission. This time it is very a personal one. The assassin who killed family. However, the mission turns out to be quite unexpected for her. There is just so much going on in her head and each day she wonders just who she can trust as that circle of people is becoming smaller by the day. To add to her confusion, memories from her childhood are slowly coming to the surface and I have a feeling that when they do fully appear Jillian will leave us feeling blindsided.
This is a fast paced, exciting series, full of suspense and riddled with clues that I am trying to figure out as I go. Bring on book 3! And the mystery continues. The Eagle continues Huntley's story and the mystery involving her family. Her undercover partner who is acting as her brother starts to question her background as well. Things heat up with her and Prince Lorenzo but she is still keeping him at arms length.
There is more spy action in this stallment and it keeps it exciting. Huntley gets to be more of a physical bodyguard for Prince Lorenzo.
He just keeps getting sweeter and she is going to miss her chance with him if sh And the mystery continues. He just keeps getting sweeter and she is going to miss her chance with him if she isn't careful. Of course the epilogue leaves us with a big question mark about a situation but lucky for us readers the third book is already out. These characters continue to grow on me. I already told you about Prince Lorenzo but Daniel keeps popping in for an appearance and he is quite the bad boy charmer himself.
Lots of fashion, drama and mystery. What was supposed to be a bit of a vacation of Huntley after the last mission in book 1 doesn't really turn out that way. A fun read that I would recommend. Lots of intrigue with a splash of romance. I was gifted a copy for an honest review. Apr 03, Shelley rated it it was amazing.
Huntley was successful with her first assignment and now she has received her second. The president of the United States has been killed and it is time for Huntley to face the man she has been dreaming about killing since the day she watched him kill her mom. Huntley will be brought back together with Daniel and she will realize that he is not the man she keeps dreaming about and soon the man she cannot get out of her thoughts is back in her life. Along with finding the man that she wants revenge Huntley was successful with her first assignment and now she has received her second.
Along with finding the man that she wants revenge against she also learns information that makes her start to question who she really is and what information that was given to her is true or false. This book had lots of surprises, and I continue to love Huntley and Lorenzo. Jan 20, Jessica Fether rated it really liked it. Totally sucked in to this mystery!! I was going to give this four stars up until the very end. Sep 10, Christine Galinski rated it really liked it. Starting to like the series even more. Excited to continue! I love love love this serious. I can't wait to see what happens through out this serious. This time around I felt the pace throughout the entire book was more smooth and just simply flowed better.
I was telling my blog partner when I finished it that I can feel myself getting more and more addicted the further in the series I go.
Jillian Dodd really has a knack for creating these crazy worlds full of characters who you cannot help but love, but wha 4. Jillian Dodd really has a knack for creating these crazy worlds full of characters who you cannot help but love, but what makes this series unique is the mystery surrounding Agent X, better known as Huntley. As The Eagle begins we find Huntley relaxing on a yacht wondering what her next mission will be, hopeful she will one day be able to look her mother's assassin in the eyes as she ends his life.
She's been so focused, so driven since she entered Blackwood Academy that's she never really thought to question anything. However, as the story unfolds lines begin blurring and as Agent X finds herself within the grasp of her one goal, a chance encounter not only changes her path, but leaves her longing for answers, unsure of reality and relying on her gut instincts. Who should she trust? Who is she really? Why was she sent to Blackwood Academy? Can she trust her employer? Should she trust them? Yet aside from all of those struggles, she is also dealing with a Prince she loves, but is unwilling to admit to herself, and a Vice President's son who makes it easy to have a fun relationship without having to worry about her heart falling from him but side note And who doesn't love watching a young girl navigate matters of the heart for the first time.
It's the icing on the cake for me! I'm just going to go ahead and state the Prince is my choice, their connection is genuine and feels so "real. I am super excited for book 3 and hope we do not have to wait to long to jump back into all the action. For me I felt by the end of the book that Jillian Dodd had fallen into her story-telling "groove," providing us with a story that I anticipate with each book readers will find themselves begging for more and more pages.
Huntley's life may be confusing, but it's also a really fun place to escape to and she is a really easy character to not only like but to also cheer for. She's kick-ass but also has this soft, nurturing side which makes her very endearing. Feb 28, Wendy rated it really liked it Shelves: murder-mystery , intrigue.

Skillfully Jillan Dodd weaves a thrill-ride with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat until an explosive confrontation near the end that leaves more questions to be answered. Like Huntley Von Allister now a Montrovian Countess who continues to be smart, self-sufficient, and unflappable but unsure about her feelings towards Daniel and Lorenzo, all these personalities and others fuel this story with excitement, passion and drama.
When we last left Huntley she was on a luxurious yacht finally getting the downtime she so desperately deserved. However it was cut short when she received a new mission. A mission that started the The Eagle off with more action, fashion and hotties. It is difficult to write a review without giving away the plot or storyline for this series.
Especially due to the action based nature of the books. We can talk about the Prince and Daniel for a moment though. Ladies, Jillian always manages to write the most perfect book boyfriends for us to swoon over. She leaves us arguing with one another about which one our main character should choose.

There are two guys here that Huntley could choose should she choose to settle down in the end. My gut is telling me that Jillian is going to spring another hottie on us though. Do you remember the Keatyn Chronicles? We had Cush, Aiden and Dawson to choose from!!

Why settle for two when we can have three? Oh wait Back to The Eagle. Buy the book! It's worth it. The story builds from The Prince and honestly has just gotten better. If you loved the Nancy Drew books growing up you will love these. This novel was explosive!
